Doctor Baker | Saucer

  • The Hangar on the Hudson 675 River Street Troy, NY, 12180 United States (map)

Doctor Baker started out as an acoustic duo featuring singer-songwriter Ed Schwarzschild and guitarist Iggy Calabria, two wayward Philadelphians who met in Albany, NY. After adding Danny Goodwin on drums and Chris Gockley on bass, Doctor Baker sounds a lot louder, and the band's strong, sound medicine has been mentioned in The New Yorker, nominated for an EDDIES alt/indie artist of the year, and led to sweet gigs in Philly, NYC, and elsewhere. But the main goal always remains the same: Doctor Baker works to heal audiences in the Capital Region and beyond. Come on out and help celebrate their brand new album, NOT/WITHSTANDING!

Saucer formed in Poestenkill, NY in 2019 and is composed of guitarist/vocalist Jim Crawley, bassist/vocalist Jim Temple, and drummer/vocalist Evan Crawley. The Crawley father-son duo, both born and raised in the capital region, have been playing music together since Evan was a kid. Jim Temple is a longtime family friend who has played with Jim Crawley in bands such as Blue Factory and Private Plain in decades past. Collectively, Saucer is a loud, melodic rock band that draws from several inspirations including Guided By Voices, REM, XTC, Nada Surf, The Beths, and others. Since 2019, they've recorded and released two full-length albums, and are set to release a third very soon in 2025
